Marcel Daniels is Area Head of the English for Academic Purposes program and Senior Lecturer at NYU Shanghai. His experience spans secondary education education in South Korea, undergraduate summer programs at Tsinghua University in Beijing, and business English modules for professionals across fields. Before joining NYU Shanghai, he was a visiting lecturer in Georgia State University’s (GSU) Intensive English Program. His teaching and research interests include English phonology, normalization of "accented" speech, rhetoric in public speaking, and advancements in computer-assisted language learning (CALL). An active contributor to professional development, he leads teacher-training workshops and presents his research at international conferences worldwide. Daniels’s academic training spans a BA in Speech Communication and an MA in Applied Linguistics/TEFL, both completed at GSU.
