NYU Shanghai Academic Affairs provides opportunities for students to present their research work through the fall and spring semester Undergraduate Research Symposiums as well as external conferences.
Presentation at Academic Conference (PAC) Grants
These awards provide limited funding for approved undergraduates at NYU Shanghai who have been selected to present their own original research at an academic conference related to their area of study. Please see the instructions for how to apply.
NYU Shanghai Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Undergraduate Research Symposium is a platform to exhibit your exciting research achievements to all NYU Shanghai community members. We welcome all DURF projects, capstone projects, research projects from courses, Dean’s Service Scholars (DSS), Study Away programs, and other independent research done under the guidance of a faculty mentor from the NYU Global Network.
Judges will evaluate and select the Best Research Project and Best Presentation awards. The audience will vote for the Most Popular Project. Each winning group will receive a certificate.
Spring 2026 Undergraduate Research Symposium
The Spring 2026 Symposium will be hosted on Friday, May 8, 4:30-7:05 PM, on the third floor, East Building. All participants are required to prepare 1) a research poster 2) one to two slides and 3) a 3-minute presentation.
There are two components to the application. You will need to:
- Fill out the Application Form by Wednesday, March 25, 11:59 AM. For group projects, you only need to submit one application containing all the information for your team members.
- Ask your mentor to submit the Faculty Endorsement Form by Wednesday, March 25, 11:59 AM.
