The Student Health Center provides a variety of wellness programs and initiatives throughout the academic year that help students connect with health professionals, explore topics that matter to their well-being, and build practical skills that support a healthier, more balanced university experience.
21-Day Wellness Initiatives
The 21-Day Wellness Initiative empowers students to take intentional steps toward a health goal that matters to them. Through personalized one-on-one coaching, students receive practical strategies, encouragement, and accountability as they build healthy micro-habits and make steady progress toward goals such as quitting smoking or vaping, establishing a daily mindfulness practice, improving sleep, increasing physical activity, or developing other healthy habits. The program is confidential, free of charge, and open to all NYU Shanghai students. To learn more, email: shanghai.health@nyu.edu.
Weekly Wellness Programs

Sessions explore a range of topics relevant to student life, including resilience, nutrition, sleep, sexual health, substance use, injury prevention, stress management, and more. - Peer-led Workshops
Learn, connect, and grow alongside fellow students in workshops led by Health Ambassadors. Whether you're joining a wellness challenge, getting creative at an art-jamming session, or discovering how to navigate local food delivery apps and other university resources, these sessions offer a welcoming space to build skills, make connections, and thrive. - Learn The Handpan
Take a pause from the demands of student life and explore the calming art of handpan playing. This four-week program introduces students to the basics of this melodic percussion instrument, offering a welcoming space to cultivate mindfulness, creativity, and relaxation through music. - Sound Healing
Experience deep relaxation through the soothing sounds of singing bowls and other therapeutic instruments inspired by nature. The gentle sounds and vibrations help foster a sense of ease, relaxation, and presence. - Mid-Week Mindfulness
In the midst of a busy semester, taking a few moments to pause can make a meaningful difference. These weekly sessions invite students to explore mindfulness through guided meditation and breathing practices, creating space to cultivate a greater sense of calm and balance.
